RC Greatest Hits Top 40 2012

The top ten poets to make the RC Greatest Hits Top 40 List will compete in the annual RC Greatest Hits Slam for a chance to represent RC at the NorthBeast Regional Slam(s).

The 2012 RC Greatest Hits Slam will be held on Sunday, December 2nd at Dobra Tea.

In the RC Greatest Hits Slam, poets must choose only a poem that is in the top 40 of the Greatest Hits List.  There will be only one round.  We encourage poets to use a 3 minute poem in this slam as the NorthBeast Regionals is a 3 minute slam, however, poets are free to use any poem that is currently in the top 40 list, be it 3 minute, 2 minute or 1 minute.

The poets to finish in the top 5 of this slam will be the first picked to represent RC at the NorthBeast Regional Slam(s).  Should a poet not be able to compete in the NorthBeast we will ask in order of highest to lowest scores of the RC Greatest Hits Slam.

This slam is intented to provide incentive for poets to compete in multiple slams throughout the RC Slam season and to inspire improved performance of individual pieces throughout the season.  This slam is also intended to highlight the greatest poems of a slam season since many will be retired from the following year’s slam season per RC Slam Tournament Rules.

Rules are subject to change.  Any changes to rules will be reflected on this page.

NOTE:  The RC Slam is still in the registration process so there is a chance we will not be registered in time for the NorthBeast Slam but we are being optimistic and being prepared.
